I know I'm not the only one on this good earth who thinks blogging is weird. In my head, I always thought a blog should be a space where one expresses who they are, what they love, what's going on in their life. It should be an honest and true reflection of oneself. Sometimes it becomes more than that, or less than that, as life moves up and down and constantly changes.
In 2011, I started this blog under a different name. I was living in Europe, essentially just a housewife, with endless amounts of time and a new continent chock-full of new adventures that were just a bus or trainride away. I discovered blogging and it essentially took over my life - I LOVED it, and the blog grew quickly, from 0 to 1000+ followers in less than a year.
Then we moved.
The American was back in America. I had school again. A Job. A very good job, that is challenging and rewarding and requires a lot of time, energy and travel. While working full time and studying, I started up my photography business, moved (again) and then started everything all over.
Transitions can make blogging very difficult.
I don't want to make excuses because I don't need any - 2013 was a great year, it just didn't get documented very much. With 2014 just around the corner, however, plans to resurrect this space are in full-motion. It will be in many ways a totally fresh start, since I've been absent so long that most of my readers have undoubtedly moved on to other bright and beautiful things.
But the idea of this is more freeing than discouraging. I'm excited to start again, to create a space that is truly mine - a place to share whatever the heck I want to whoever is bored or crazy enough to stop and read.
Get ready - 2014 is going to be a GREAT year.
