The Decision to Sell My Wedding Dress

We've downsized in storage space quite a bit here at our new place, and I can't seem to find a proper place to store my wedding dress.  I've given it a whole bunch of thought and decided I'd rather see someone else enjoy it than have it shoved away into a dark corner where it doesn't even fit anyway.  It's an absolutely gorgeous, one of a kind dress that deserves to be worn!

If you are in Utah, getting engaged/married/you know someone who is, take a look at my listing on KSL here. I am selling it for pennies compared to what I paid for it!

I'm also interested to hear - are you keeping your wedding dresses for posterity? Did you sell yours? Do a trash-the-dress shoot? Share in the comments!

Oh gosh, it's so beautiful! That must have been a tough choice to let it go.

I'm not married yet but I can imagine I'd get pretty attached to my dress; I get stupidly attached to t-shirts from Primark sometimes...!

I'm hanging on to mine. My mom gave me the idea to make blessing gowns for future babies out of it. My grandmother also made my dress and passed away a few months after the wedding. Getting rid of that memory of her just seems unfathomable to me!

I kept mine in a preserved box. I'm taking it out to wear for our tenth wedding anniversary vow renewal this August.

I worked in a bridal gown store before, and never did I think I'd become attached to my dress. But the one I ended up wearing was one my mother made. I'm thinking of having her cut it short and dying it navy or something. It was a very unfussy dress to begin with.

It must have been a tough decision because it holds so much memories and it's so beautiful. Mine was only $250 and I'm seriously thinking of donating it to a thrift store. But I'm still holding on to it.

I often think of selling mine - especially since it's way too big for me now! But my husband refuses to believe that I'd be ok with selling it and suggests I hold on to it. As it is, it's sitting in the cleaners' box stuffed in the back of a closet.
