All By Myself

For those of you who don't know, my husband is a trained carpenter. That's pretty handy for me, because I can just point to some project I see on pinterest or in a magazine and say "Hey, is it possible for you to build this?" And his answer is usually yes.
However, I'm not the only one who has caught on that my husband is a useful guy to keep around.
He's going to be up at his parent's for nearly a week helping them build a shed off of the side of their house. Since they live over an hour away and German gas prices are what they are (Um, like ten dollars a gallon?!) it's more economical for him to just stay there while he completes the project.

I'm pretty bummed I have to go that long without my husband around.
I mean, what if there's a spider and I can't girlishly squeal for him to kill it?
Will I actually have to take out the trash?
This is worse than I thought.

On the bright-side, I suppose this is a grand opportunity to catch up on those guilty-pleasure reality TV shows I'm normally too embarrassed to watch...and blog reading, of course!

Here are a few I love to read and I know you will too:

----

Along Abbey Road
I've been following Abbey's blog since before I can remember. She is a lovely, well-dressed mommy of an ADORABLE little boy (so really, what's not to love?!) and her blog title incorporates her name and a Beatles reference into one thing. Sold.
I loved (LOVED) her post about choosing motherhood here.
Oh, and her chalboard mug tutorial here.

Chasing Heartbeats
Ashley and I are similar in a lot of ways - we both married German men and are living with them abroad. We both love photography and traveling the world, although I will say Ashley is WAY more skilled and experienced in the photography department. I am constantly inspired by her blog which is full of gorgeous photography from all over the world. She is definitely one of my daily reads!
I loved this video she made from her trip to Amsterdam!

Nicole in the Making
Nicole is an extremely creative and talented blogger. She makes awesome jewelry that I love using wire, fabric and beautiful beads. She teaches dance (I am always so jealous of people who can dance. I wish I had that grace and skill!) and she raises chickens and ducks.
Yes. You read that correctly. Reading any of her posts about her chickens is guaranteed to put you in a better mood. I mean come on - they're chickens!

She posted the world's cutest video of dancing twins today. Go watch.

Check out Nicole in the Making!

That's all for now! Check out those great reads, you won't be sorry.

Whenever either my roommate or I leaves for any period of time the one who's left behind always goes through withdrawals for like a day and then wakes up the next day and LOVES IT. It's kind of fun to play house by yourself :)

I've been home alone this week. There are some benefits, but I'm starting to get really lonely :(

Enjoy every bit of the trashy TV that you can and all of your 'me' time. Sometimes, it's really nice when they go away (but only sometimes) :)
