What I Wore (For Our Anniversary)

Sweater: Thrifted
Shoes: FourStar
Bracelet: Gifted

As many of you know, my one year wedding anniversary was on Monday. We celebrated early in southern Germany over the weekend (more on that later) but the actual day was so special. I didn't start off the day wearing this little black fact, I was in a pair of tattered jeans, sneakers and an unflattering tee shirt. Why on earth would I dress like that on our anniversary? Well, Steven was recreating one of our very first dates: Doener Kebap for lunch and an afternoon swinging and climbing around in a high ropes adventure course

Can I stress enough how fun these things are? SO FREAKING FUN I TELL YOU.  I know, I know, nothing more romantic than dangling high above the earth and jumping from teetering wood planks, right? It certainly got our adrenaline going, that's for sure. There was only one moment in which I was genuinely terrified, and that was when I was scaling a 30+ foot climbing wall WITHOUT someone on belay (There are places to hook yourself up to with your carribeaner as you climb, but still.) It didn't help that the wall was a wood plank that shook slightly when you climbed. Let's just say I'm glad I'm alive. We were there three hours, had a blast, and got a serious work out - two days later and I'm still sore!

Later that evening we got ready to go out to dinner at our favorite little Italian place. I chose to wear a little black dress I picked up in Paris a year ago (at an H&M, I'm really not that fancy) and some black stiletto pumps. It was a pretty humorous moment when my heel got stuck in a subway grate on the walk over.

So sexy, I know. Ahem.

Oh my, the ropes course looks so fun! When I worked at a kindergarten in Budapest, we would go to those each week, but because I was a teacher, I never got to actually GO on one! Someday!

You and that dress are both gorgeous! Beautiful, flattering cut.

Oh man. Doner Kebap takes me back to study abroad days. It seems whenever I read your blog, I think about those days, which is possibly part of the attraction.

That last picture is also very cool.

Happy (Belated) Anniversary to you and Steven!
