A Blate in Karlsruhe

In addition to reaching 500 followers, another huge "blogger milestone" last week was having my very first 'blate' (Unless you count all of my adventures with Alyx as blates, in which case I'd been on like a million blates before this one.) I had been asked to do a couples shoot down in Baden-Wuertenburg only about thirty minutes away from where Alex (Ifs, ands & Butts) lives and knew it was high time we got acquainted. I am so glad we were able to finally meet! She showed me around Karlsruhe, which I have to say beats Frankfurt in both charm and cuteness by like a million points.

The majority of our day was spent relaxing in the huge park behind this amazing palace! If you read Alex's blog you see it mentioned quite a bit (for good reason) and it was cool to finally be there myself.

We also climbed up to a tower high up on a hill to get a good look at the landscape. The views were incredible - and I did NOT saturate these photos, it really is that green. I'm from California and Alex is from Texas, so both of us are not used to seeing so much color. You'll often find me complaining about the insanely high amount of rain here, but views like this make you realize why it's worth it. (Until it's raining again, then I just get angry again and start babbling about how I miss living in a desert climate.)

You can't forget the odd sword-fighting dudes we watched in the palace garden...

I suppose if I wanted to wage a duel to show off my mad sword fighting skills, I would want to do it near a palace too. Like, "Oh hey just finished rescuing a princess and jousting, gonna pop in for a bit of sword practice before the feast tonight"

I read a lot of nerdy medieval fantasy novels.
I'll stop now.

P.S.
Have you entered my huge 500 follower group giveaway yet?

Awesome day! Now I just need to get my butt up to Frankfurt. And the photos of all the greenery blow my mind, even after seeing it all the time in person. Your photos kick mine's butt, just an FYI for when I actually get around to posting mine :) Thanks again for coming to see me!!

I'm totally intrigued by the weird sword fighting guys, and their outfits. Are they skirts? Skorts? Shorts?
And there is a little something for you over on my blog if you're so inclined :)
