Bridal Photography Session…Take Two?!

When I was in California I was lucky enough to put that wedding dress (and other dresses) back on for a bridal photo shoot with the wonderful Photographer Matt Haines. Our wedding day had been so hectic I didn’t really have the chance to have “bridal portraits” taken and so when this opportunity presented itself, I jumped at the chance! Something I wasn’t quite expecting was that Matt shoots entirely with film – only film! With digital photography you can take as many pictures as you want – I’m used to having outtakes, and hundreds of images to sort through and pick out the best…not just a couple of rolls of film and the need to make every single shot count! Let’s just say it added on a ton of pressure.

Regardless, we got some good ones. Here are a few of the resulting images from the shoot:

Oo, these photos are lovely! Love the colours in your bouquet. I recently did a post-wedding shoot with my photographer too, and I also wore some Irregular Choice heels for it! http://dontthinkorjudge.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/caught-in-love.html

It was so nice to be able to put my dress back on and get some really nice photos done without having to deal with all the wedding stuff going on as well!

What a cool second chance! Your dress is gorgeous and I'm so in love with those heels! Did you wear those on your wedding day?

I've heard about photographers doing more work with film now and I think that's really interesting. I think I'd probably need the hundred extra shots! HA.

I LOVE the short dress and everything about these photos! There's something about film that just adds a really great element to photography.

I love these pictures! There's something about shooting with film that's so intimidating but very fun. I never had real bridal pics taken either, maybe one day I'll get the chance :)

i agree with you about digital v. film thing, but isn't it also fun to see the pictures after they're developed? it's like opening a present! you never know what it's gonna be! :)
