I hope everyone had a great weekend! One or more of you may have thought it was strange that I didn’t post anything new since Friday, but I was too busy spending time with my Daddy! He was in Frankfurt on business and we were able to spend time on Saturday and Sunday with him. I am so grateful!

We made our way to Sachsenhausen (The neighborhood south of the river) after meeting my Dad at his hotel in downtown Frankfurt. Ironically, my Dad knew more about the good places to eat than we did as he’s been to Frankfurt on business countless numbers of times. He took us to a charming place called Adolf Wagner’s – it serves traditional German food and is famous for it’s Apfelwein (Apple Wine.) Of course that meant nothing to us Mormons, but all of the Germans around us seemed to be enjoying it quite thoroughly.

On Sunday we got to see him again. We took a stroll through the park – did you know downtown frankfurt had something resembling a “central park”? Neither did we! Oh, the things we learn. Going out for desert after lunch was another memorable treat.

On another note, a major theme of this past weekend for me was self-evaluation. I know that there are some things in my life that need to change. I made a list of things I’m passionate about, goals I would like to accomplish, the person I’d like to be six months, a year, five years from now.
It helped a lot.
I am going to try to narrow my focus onto things I really care about.
One of which is creativity – or rather, my need to exercise the creative side of my brain.
I have ideas in my head for future projects both big and small. I have dreams of opening an online shop in the (relatively) near future, and I LOVE the idea of furthering my experience in graphic design. Over the weekend I was able to design blog layout for – not one, but two of my friends. I am really happy with the result and I had a blast!

My design for Sir Aubergine’s Dazzling Duo is already live on my friend’s blog! Be sure to check it out.

Do you like what you see?
If so, this is my proposal:

The first three people who email me (see my “Contact” page for info) will receive a free blog makeover.
Emphasis on the word free.
Everything is included: a 1, 2, or 3 column layout, a custom banner, link buttons, an intro photo/”about me”, and a custom button grab box.
I believe that this is something I really love to do, but I need more experience before I can know for sure, and offering free design work seems to be a good way to do that.
There is a big, beautiful new week ahead of us. Let’s make it great!
